(Alphabet) STEP BY STEP ABC (Father Tuck's Little Lesson Series) (code no. 3600). London; Paris; New York: Raphael Tuck & Sons, Ltd., [circa 1895]. FIRST EDITION. 12mo - 6-13/16" x 4-7/16". Single staple bound as issued, color pictorial scallop-edged glazed paper wrappers with a chromolithograph of a young girl walking across a stream on ABC stepping stones with minor rubbing along spine, short splits to the head and tail of spine, a small stain to the right of the directional sign on front wrapper and an upper fore edge corner crease to back wrapper for what is still a nice copy of the book. [8] pp. This is a simple alphabet book with each letter printed in upper case and paired with a verse and illustration that is in some way related to the letter, e.g., "A stands for Alice to Archie so dear, He's never happy unless she is near. B stands for Bowl with beautiful Bouquet, Roses they plucked from the hedges to-day. C stands for Children we all love so well, Songs we will sing them and tales we will tell;" illustrations and text printed in one of four alternating color schemes: all green, all gray, full color illustrations and black text, or all medium brown; internally the book is fine save for a rusty staple. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD +. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. RARE #000909
