(Dean's Rag Book Co.) DEAN'S "HETTY: THE HELP YOURSELF GIRL" RETAIL SHOWCARD. London: Dean's Rag Book Co., Ltd., [circa 1930]. 8-13/16" x 11-13/16". This card was designed to be displayed in a retail setting to promote the sale of "Hetty: The Help Yourself Girl" doll which Dean's produced between 1930 and 1932; "Hetty" was sold as a fund raiser "in aid of the Hospitals," to which Dean's guaranteed to pay 12-1/2% of their sales receipts from. Stiff cardstock with titles printed in black on a yellow background with a color pictorial paste-on depicting "Hetty" with minute touches of rubbing along the lower edge for what is a wonderful example of this early 20th century doll advertising card. This is the actual showcard reproduced on p. 214 in "Dean's Rag Books and Rag Dolls" by Peter and Dawn Cope; from the Dean's archives. The condition of the showcard is FINE. RARE #000921
