(Dean's Rag Book Co.) DEAN'S "WABBLY WALLY: THE BRITISH-LEGION MASCOT" RETAIL SHOWCARD (code No. 34). London: Dean's Rag Book Co., Ltd., [circa 1928]. 9-11/16" x 11-13/16". This card was designed to be displayed in a retail setting to promote the sale of "Wabbly Wally: The British-Legion Mascot" toy which Dean's produced between 1928 and 1930; Dean's donated a portion of the proceeds of each "Wabbly Wally" sold to the British-Legion; apparently the current Queen of England was the recipient of one of these toys as a young Princess as noted on the card. Color pictorial stiff cardstock with "Wabbly Wally" pictured three times (showing three of the colors the toy was available in) with titles printed in black on a yellow background in pristine condition for what is a beautiful example of this early 20th century toy advertising card.
