Campaign poster printed in black and white with a portrait of Eldridge Cleaver, who had joined the Black Panther Party in 1966 after being released from prison, and was nominated as a presidential candidate two years later, running on the Peace & Freedom Party ticket. Although he was not technically old enough to run being just 32 years old, he still appeared on a number of the ballots. A Cleaver presidency would have been a unique one seeing as how Cleaver had jumped bail in November 1968 fleeing to Cuba, before eventually settling in Algeria, not returning to the United States until 1975; very faint horizontal crease and small area of slight toning to margin at lower right corner.
