Cocoa brown pictorial paper wrappers with decoration and lettering printed in black to both front and back wrappers; wrappers are nearly detached but are in nice condition for the most part with small triangular losses at the fore edge corners of the front wrapper, light damp staining along the lower portion of front wrapper by spine, and a horizontal closed tear starting at spine edge and going half way across on back wrapper for what is a remarkably well preserved copy of a notoriously fragile book. 48, 7, [1] pp. The book contains an almanac and calendar for 1875, these are followed by several short pieces by various noted writers of the day, including three pieces by Bret Harte; bound following text of the book are eight pages of advertisements; illustrated by Nast, the "Father of the American Cartoon", with ninety black and white illustrations, including a full page frontispiece and an illustrated title-page. Internally the book is in near fine condition with pages that are still bright and supple. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. Only five copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE, especially in the original wrappers. # 000735
