Original string-bound tan paper wrappers with a woodcut illustration and verse printed in black to both front and back wrappers, with light soiling and minor wear along the spine fold and to the edges, including rounding of the fore edge corners. 31, [1] pp.; illustrations. An exceedingly rare children's book on slavery, to which is added a second story about a fairy and its interactions with two sisters who have very differing temperaments; illustrated with a woodcut frontispiece of a sailing ship surrounded by canoes filled with Africans armed with bows and arrows, trying to fend off said ship, and 8 woodcuts within text, all of which are printed in black; light soiling throughout with a small ink stamp "67494" and a pen notation"085 / MOZ" written below to unprinted title page verso and a short closed tear to the center of pp. [5]-6. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. No copies located in OCLC/WorldCat, not in the British Library, not in the Auction & Book Sales Archive, nor currently available in commerce elsewhere.
