(Almanacs -- 18th Century) POOR WILL'S POCKET ALMANACK, FOR THE YEAR 1784. Philadelphia: Printed and Sold by Joseph Crukshank, [1783]. FIRST EDITION. 24mo -- 4-1/8" x 2-9/16". Original string bound thick paper wrappers with splitting along the hinge, a crease to the lower fore edge corner of rear wrapper and a small loss of paper to the tip of same for what is a nice copy of the almanac. [24] pp., with a thick unprinted guard-leaf bound in between each printed page. Poor Will's Pocket Almanacks were smaller, abridged versions of Poor Will's Almanacks. The pocket almanac for 1784 contains information on myriad useful subjects including: lunar phases, weather, eclipses, the "Yearly and General Meetings of the People called QUAKERS," scale of depreciation, table of simple interest, Supreme Courts in Pennsylvania, City Courts in Philadelphia, tide table, several distance tables for road trips from Philadelphia, etc.; paper is age tanned; a few pages with minute corner creases; internally near fine. The condition of the almanac is VERY GOOD. No actual physical copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE; and a quite wonderful copy. # 000954
