(Anti-Semitic Children's Book) TRAU KEINEM FUCHS AUF GRUNER HEID UND KEINEM JUD AUF SEINEM EID!: EIN BILDERBUCH FUR GROSS UND KLEIN [TRUST NO FOX ON HIS GREEN HEATH AND NO JEW ON HIS OATH!: A PICTURE BOOK FOR LARGE AND SMALL] by Elvira Brauer. Nurnberg: Sturmer-Verlag, (1936). FIRST EDITION, SECOND PRINTING (26-40 thousand). Oblong 8vo - 7-7/8" x 9-3/4". Tan cloth backed, fore edges covered by same, color pictorial paper covered boards with rubbing to the edges and discoloration to the cloth for what is still a nice copy of the book. All edges tinted red. Plain endpapers. [44] pp. Twenty-one full page anti-Semitic color drawings by Philipp Rupprecht, one of the best known German cartoonists during the Nazi era, illustrate this piece of Nazi propaganda aimed at the children of Germany; each illustration is accompanied by an anti-Semitic poem; internally the book is fine. This book was the first of three children's books that would be published by Julius Streicher's Sturmer Publishing House. These three books were among the most despicable productions of the Third Reich, being as they were produced to indoctrinate Nazi philosophy to school age children. These books were vile, anti-Semitic propaganda being offered up in the form of pretty picture books and instructional primers for the children of Germany to learn the "proper place" for both Aryan and Jew in Germany's Third Reich. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD +. SCARCE in such nice condition. NOTE: A complete English translation of the book can be found online at the Calvin College German Propaganda Archive website. # 000987
