Original color pictorial paper wrappers with decoration and titles to front wrapper and advertisement to back wrapper with signs of handling and wear, including rubbing along the length of the spine, a minor loss (3/8" x 1/2") to lower fore edge corner of back wrapper and minor soiling for what is still a lovely copy of the book. 5, [2] chromolithographed centerfold plate, 4, [1] pp. publisher's advertisement; the first and last pages have been pasted to the front and back inside corners as issued. This book tells the story of Aladdin in verse on pp. 1-6 and in prose on pp. 7-9. Illustrated with a chromolithographed double page centerfold spread showing the inside of a theater including the stage, proscenium, box seats and musicians who can be seen in front of the stage. Bound within this double page chromolithograph are [24] additional chromolithographed pages of various sizes that tell the story of Aladdin in pictures. These pages are the "five set scenes and nine trick changes" promised in the book's title; there is some offsetting from the centerfold plate and some glue stains to the gutters, but generally the book is in very good condition internally. This title is one of five titles in the first series of Dean & Son's Pantomime Toy Books series. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. Only 5 copies located on OCLC/WorldCat.
