(Flicker/Flip Books) THE RUMBA AS TAUGHT BY ARTHUR MURRAY. [Baltimore]: [The Emerson Drug Co.], circa 1930. Oblong 64mo - 1-7/8" x 2-9/16". Staple bound blue and white paper wrappers with titles and a reproduction of a photograph of a dancing couple, one of which is Arthur Murray, to front wrapper, and an advertisement for Bromo-Seltzer to back wrapper; paper is age-tanned, staple is rusty and corners are lightly creased/dog-eared but this is still a nice copy of this little flip book. [64] pp. including wrappers. This Bromo-Seltzer advertising flip book features the famous ballroom dancer/businessman, Arthur Murray teaching the steps to the rumba. Each page contains a half page blue and white reproduction of a photograph of a dancing couple, along with the instructions, also printed in blue, describing the step being illustrated; when one flips through the pages of the book, the couple appears to actually be dancing; when finished flipping one way, the book is designed to be turned around and flipped through the opposite direction, and with this the viewer sees the second half of the dance; internally the book is very clean and fresh. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. RARE # 000986
