The drawing, which is captioned 'A story that teaches a lesson - "The Boy who skated on thin ice!"' measures 8" x 10-1/2" on a 13-3/4" x 10-1/2" sheet of heavy weight drawing paper. The drawing features the aforementioned ice skating boy at the precise moment he learned the "lesson". This drawing was published on page 52 of the March 1939 issue of Parents' Magazine, illustrating a section named "Information Tests For Children"; Sarg was a regular contributor to Parents' Magazine all throughout the 1930's and early 1940's; drawing is signed by Sarg on lower left; light stain along right side of drawing, plus minor soiling and age-tanning. The condition of the drawing is VERY GOOD. Included with the drawing is a copy of the March 1939 issue of Parents' Magazine where the drawing was originally published. # 000824
