The OCLC listing notes the following from the book's dust jacket: "Printed in Germany with a story in English made up in America by some children who loved the pictures." Inner flap of dust jacket notes that the story is by Alice Dalgliesh of Teachers College, N.Y., based on the original German book titled Die Fischreise, "its German text told a story in verse too long and complicated for the small children who love the pictures. So Miss Dalgliesh . . . took it to some of her youngest classes, and they told her a story of Peregrin which they really liked. She shaped it into a brief text for these gay pages and it went back to the Peregrin Press to be printed." What a great way for a book to be written! Internally the book is fine. The condition of the book is NEAR FINE. SCARCE #000938
