Color pictorial stiff paper wrappers die-cut in the shape of a leaf with an embossed surface replicating the texture of a leaf with titles "Washington" and "Jarvis" stamped in gilt to front wrapper, bound at the base of the leaf with a metal fastener that allows the individual "leaves" to open like a fan with very minor rubbing to the edges and a crease to one lobe of the leaf on front wrapper for what is a very lovely copy of the book; sea-foam green tasseled cord attached through book's metal fastener. The book contains color lithographs after photographic images of major buildings and landmarks in Washington D.C. including: a bird's eye panoramic view of the city as seen from above the U.S. Capitol; State, War and Navy Departments; the U.S. Patent Office; U.S. Treasury; west view of the Capitol; President's Mansion, including views of three of its rooms; & c.; internally the book is fine.
