Outcault, R. F. (Richard Felton). BUSTER BROWN'S ANTICS. New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, Publishers, (1906). FIRST EDITION. Oblong elephant folio - 11-3/8" x 16-1/2". Green cloth backed thick card wrappers with titles printed in black and red, and color drawings of Buster Brown, Mary Jane and Tige to front wrapper with minor touches of rubbing to the head and tail of spine, light creasing and wear to the corners, and rubbing to the plain, unprinted back wrapper for what is a really nice copy of the book. [66] pp. including wrappers. Printed in full color on rectos only, the book features R. F. Outcault's famous "Buster Brown" Sunday pages that had previously appeared in the New York Herald newspaper; the top half of a Sunday page is printed on one page, and the bottom half of that same Sunday page is printed on the page that follows; this pattern continues throughout the book. The title page has a black and white drawing of Buster Brown and his dog Tige, dressed in their bedclothes, drawn especially for this book; title page with several vertical creases; two leaves with short closed tears to lower edge, otherwise the book is bright and clean internally, with only light scattered signs of handling or wear. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD + (Overstreet 5.5 FINE -). Only three copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE; especially so in such nice condition. # 000980
