Blue ink line drawing of one of the titular little giants or monsters on first leaf recto; drawing signed "Maurice Sendak." This book, which would subsequently be published in the United States with the title "Seven Little Monsters" two years after the true first edition which is offered here, follows the "seven little giants" as they make trouble for some villagers; the story is illustrated by Sendak with six leaves of full color drawings printed rectos only; a line or two of text is printed below each illustration. Laid in is the six panel accordion-fold frieze, original to this first edition, which contains all of the book's illustrations. The condition of the book and frieze is FINE. SCARCE; quite special with the original drawing by Sendak and extra frieze of illustrations. # 000874
