(Dean's Rag Book Co.) LES BETES QUE NOUS AIMONS (FRENCH LANGUAGE EDITION OF DEAN'S RAG BOOK NO. 97: "PETS WE LOVE"); illustrated by Denis Colbron Pearse. Paris: Hachette et Cie., circa 1909. Oblong 4to - 7-1/2" x 12". Sewn cloth spine as issued, color pictorial cloth wrappers with titles printed in black and pinking to the head and foot of the book (to minimize the effects of fraying to the cloth), with virtually no defects, for what is a beautiful copy of the book. [16] pp. including wrappers. Printed entirely on cloth, the book is filled with animals one would encounter on a farm: donkeys, goats, rabbits, ducks, peacocks, fox-terrier puppies (my personal favorite!), sheep, etc. etc.; all illustrated in natural settings and rendered in color for what would have been a wonderful teaching tool for a young child; internally without flaw. The condition of the book is FINE. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. RARE; especially so in such pristine condition; from the Dean's Rag Book Co. archives. #001036
