The drawing which is captioned "Is it preferable to drink milk or coffee?" measures 6-3/4" x 11-1/4" on an 8-13/16" x 13-13/16" sheet of drawing paper. The drawing features a young boy pouring his cat a bowl of coffee; the cat is just not having it! This drawing was published on page 88 of the March 1938 issue of Parents' Magazine where it illustrated a section named "Information Tests For Children;" Sarg was a regular contributor to Parents' Magazine throughout the 1930's and early 1940's, supplying the magazine with humorous drawings which often featured his trademark caricatures of animals; drawing is signed and dated by Sarg lower left; various printer's notations in the margins. The condition of the drawing is FINE. Included with the drawing is a copy of the March 1938 issue of Parents' Magazine where the drawing was originally published. # 000989
