(Dean's Rag Book Co.) PRETTY TAILS (DEAN'S RAG BOOK NO. 103) by William Harvey; illustrated by Mittie Mildred Morris. London: Dean's Rag Book Co., Ltd., circa 1914. 4to - 10-3/4" x 7-1/2". Sewn red cloth spine as issued, color pictorial "Fluffidown" cloth wrappers with titles printed in black and pinking to the head and foot of the book (to minimize the effects of fraying to the cloth), with minor soiling for what is a wonderful copy of the book. [18] pp. including wrappers. Printed entirely on "Fluffidown" cloth, a soft fluffy fabric warm to the touch that was introduced in 1914, but the onset of war made it impossible to obtain the fabric and in 1915 production with "Fluffidown" ceased; the book is filled with color drawings of animals going about their daily routines on the farm, including a donkey, a flight of pigeons, chickens, ducks, a turkey chasing a dog, a wonderful group of frogs playing leap-frog(!), a cricket warning a lamb to watch out for the bees, etc. etc.; illustrated by Morris with a full page color drawing on every page; a humorous verse by Harvey, printed in black, accompany each drawing and describes the characters and the action occurring therein; light scattered unobtrusive soiling internally for what otherwise is a bright fresh copy of the book. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD +. Only one copy located on OCLC/WorldCat (Princeton University Library). EXCEEDINGLY RARE on "Fluffidown" cloth; from the Dean's Rag Book Co. archives. #001040
