Each issue featured a range of articles and op-eds on the activities of the party, black power, police brutality, communism, and party leadership. The back of most issues featured revolutionary artwork by the Black Panther Minister of Culture, the graphic artist Emory Douglas. The front page of this issue has the headline "Eldridge Cleaver Breaks His Silence;" the corresponding article's headline reads "Message to sister Erica Higgins of the Black Panther Party" and is an "excerpt from tape of Eldridge breaking his silence from somewhere in the Third World.
