(Cannabis) (Underground Press Publications) THE MARIJUANA REVIEW: VOL. 1, NO. 1 THRU VOL. 1, NO. 9; A COMPLETE RUN OF THIS INFLUENTIAL CANNABIS PERIODICAL. The Marijuana Review was the first periodical in the U.S. devoted to cannabis culture and information. It featured information on legalization efforts, advocacy campaigns, cannabis pricing, psychedelic imagery poetry and much more. By 1972, the magazine's publisher, AMORPHIA, saw that its advocacy efforts were being challenged by another cannabis advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. named the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, or NORML. Early on, both organizations recognized that cooperation between the two organizations would be better than competition between the two, so AMORPHIA rolled its organization into NORML, making NORML the cannabis advocacy organization we know today.
