After being punished more than once for her bad behavior, Little Ellen finally realizes she is causing grief and unhappiness to her mother, her nurse and herself, and from then on becomes an obedient and docile child (and who said there was not value in tying up one's misbehaving children?); illustrated with a total of nine woodcuts: one on p.[1] of wrappers, one on title-page and seven illustrating the story within text; internally with light spotting/staining. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. SCARCE #000929
