Original publisher's green cloth backed color pictorial paper covered board portfolio with light wear to the edges for what is a nice example of the portfolio; p. [2] of portfolio has a calendar for each month of the year (1946) surrounded by twelve tiny lovely Vargas girls. [12] leaves of colored plates, each measuring 9-5/8" x 12-13/16", laid in cloth pocket attached to p. [3] of the portfolio; each of the [12] leaves, one for each month of the year, printed with a full color illustration by Vargas of one of his pin-up girls dressed in seasonal attire, along with the year and the month and a four line verse that ties it all together, e.g., "February: The month of February / is the briefest of the year, / So please forgive my costume -- / It's just a symbol, dear!" The plates are bright and clean with little evidence of handling. The condition of the portfolio is VERY GOOD +. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. RARE #001086
